What to Expect

Philosophy/Process

You’ve done the work. But somewhere between the income, the accounts, the taxes, and the life you’re planning, it’s hard to see the full picture clearly. That’s exactly what I’m here for.

Financial planning should start with your life. Before we look at numbers, we start with a conversation about what matters most to you: what you want your retirement to look like, how you think about family, legacy, and the life you’re building. That conversation shapes everything that follows.

Financial independence gives you freedom and control. The goal is to help you prepare for risks, create options, and live life on your terms, no matter what happens.

Who thrives in this work

I work best with people who want to be active participants in their financial life. You are ready to take meaningful steps, open to guidance, and looking for someone to help you weigh options. You value clarity, follow-through, and a collaborative relationship.

What it feels like to work together

You’ll work directly with me, one person who sees the whole picture and helps you connect the dots. I’ll walk you through the pros and cons of each choice, highlight blind spots, and help you understand the rules without the overwhelm. The goal is to help you understand your options and make decisions with confidence, so your financial future is shaped by your choices, not by circumstances.

My approach

Simple, human explanations. No jargon. No judgment. Just a calm, grounded space to explore what’s possible and make decisions that align with your values.

How we work together

All meetings are conducted by video call.

  • Discovery call —A 30-minute conversation to explore whether we’re a good fit.

  • Agreement letter — Once we decide to move forward, you sign the agreement letter. This is when the work begins.

  • Securing your financial information — You’ll receive access to a secure client portal where you upload your financial documents. Everything is organized and protected in one place.

  • Values session — Before we look at any numbers, we have a conversation about what matters most to you: your goals, your priorities, and the life you want your plan to support.

  • Information review — We meet to confirm the accuracy of what we have and fill in any gaps. If documents are still outstanding, we’ll work through them together here. This ensures the plan reflects your actual picture, not assumptions.

  • Plan development — I connect the dots, identify opportunities and vulnerabilities, and build a plan tailored to your goals.

  • Scenario discussions — We meet as needed to walk through options, weigh trade-offs, and pressure-test different paths forward.

  • Final plan presentation — We review the completed plan together. You receive a written financial plan documenting your full picture, recommendations, and next steps.

  • Follow-through — I support implementation as needed and provide ongoing guidance to keep your plan current and aligned with your evolving goals.

For clients who include investment management as part of their engagement

My approach is straightforward: globally diversified portfolios built with low-cost funds held in custody at Altruist, where you maintain full ownership and transparency. Research consistently shows that actively managed funds underperform passively managed, low-cost funds over the long term. Keeping things simple and minimizing fees means more of what you earn stays working for you.
