Irene Lam
Financial Planner
About Me
I began my career in public accounting in New York City, working directly with clients on tax planning, and later moved into the financial services industry, spending years in accounting and corporate finance roles that demanded precision and analytical strength.
Over time, I found myself drawn back to the parts of my early career I valued most: working directly with people, hearing their stories, and helping them navigate decisions that mattered. I missed the feeling of building long-term relationships and being the person someone trusted to guide them through something important.
I eventually left the corporate world to pursue financial planning. In 2025, I passed the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ exam, a step that reflects my commitment to this profession and the preparation I bring to my work.
I founded Dyff Advisory in 2026 to do one-on-one work that helps people feel more in control of their future and to teach, explain, and help them understand the rules instead of feeling intimidated by them. The name Dyff was inspired by the idea of designing your financial future.
I have navigated many of the same transitions my clients face: career changes, uncertainty, identity shifts, and the desire to feel more in control. Those experiences shape how I show up, with a grounded understanding of what these moments feel like and a genuine focus on helping you gain confidence, find clarity, and make decisions that feel right for your life.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, experiencing new cultures, and experimenting in the kitchen. Born in Hong Kong and having spent time in different parts of the world, I believe there is something to be learned from every society. For me, money is a means to live a life aligned with my values: independence, exploration, and meaningful experiences. That understanding shapes how I show up in my work. I do not assume there is only one right way to build a life or a financial plan. I am a lifelong learner, and these parts of my life keep me curious and open as I continue to grow personally and professionally.
